Welcome to the methods I use
Thought Field Therapy - Norma is a 65 year old woman who has been suffering from anxiety and dysthymia (chronic, low grade depression) on and off for the past 35 years. She has been on anti-depressant medication and has tried many types of psychotherapy without much success. A 30-minute consultation later and her depression lifts. Her psychiatrist is surprised and is puzzled as to why she is better. Six months later, her depression is still gone. A miracle? No. Not an unusual result for a revolutionary new type of psychological treatment which is rapidly growing in popularity in North America, Australia and Europe.
Thought Field Therapy (TFT), is a recent breakthrough in psychological treatment that will eventually have a tremendous impact on the future of how we understand and treat psychological problems.
In 1979, American psychologist, Dr Roger Callahan, (a pioneer of cognitive behaviour therapy and a personal friend of the renowned psychologist, Dr Albert Ellis), after working briefly working with the Australian Psychiatrist, Dr John Diamond, made a series of discoveries while treating a female patient named Mary, who had a severe life long water phobia. Mary was unresponsive to conventional treatments such as cognitive behaviour therapy and hypnosis. However, after two minutes of trying a new psychological treatment, Mary's life long water phobia vanished and has remained ever so since. Callaban was astounded. Alas, most of his patients did not respond as quickly as Mary. However, he continued to make further discoveries and was able to effect positive outcomes and even cures in over 85% of his patients. These positive treatment results often occurred very quickly - amazingly fast compared to any other type of psychological treatment.
There are now scientific studies being conducted on the potential of TFT. Charles Figley (a world authority on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) at Florida State university, has conducted studies into TFT and has concluded that TFT is the most effective treatment for PTSD. At the time of this writing there are several controlled studies being conducted in the USA, Sweden, UK and Australia.
The results of TFT cannot he explained in terms of distraction, hypnosis or placebo effects. This treatment does not initially engender confidence in the patient and no belief is required for the treatment to work. It works anyway. The word "cure" can often be confidently used when describing the successful outcome of TFT treatment. Overall success rates appear to be in the order of 85-90% and with no negative side effects.
Releasing - Releasing is one of the most simple ways to treat a whole host of unwanted feelings and negative emotions. It is so easy it is almost unbelievable. Releasing works on the principle that unwanted feelings will become stronger and more pervasive the more you try to fight them or wish them away. This results in the feelings being strengthened and therefore reinforced. with releasing technique you simply ask yourself a short set of questions that actually dissolve and release the trapped feelings never to return.
Again it is a safe, gentle and unobtrusive treatment for helping you feel better about difficult situations, people or events. There is no situation about which you can't feel better.
The releasing technique does not wipe away memories, but it does dissolve the sometimes crippling negative feelings you may have about a situation. Also the technique can be taught and utilized by the client after ther initial session has ended.
. Core Transformation Process - The Core Transformation Process is a simple but profound technique that originally arose from cognitive-behavioural science. This powerful technique not only facilitates automatic and natural personal change but does so by respectfully reaching our very core states, the oneness that resides in all of us. This process allows us all to tap into a direct spiritual experience that also changes any limitation, disempowering belief, negative behaviour, past imprint or unwanted response that we care to bring to it. We now know that all our behaviours no matter how negative or defeating they may seem to be actually have a positive intention or purpose behind them. By this I mean that they really have a benefit for us. For example, everyone knows that smoking is bad for you, so why do people smoke. Well there are benefits to smoking for that person. The smoking may calm them down, it may stop them over eating, it may be a way of having acceptance with their peer group. This is a simple example but it serves to illustrate the fact that all behaviours have an important message or intention for us. Through the Core Transformation Process we discover what these positive intentions are and we go through a series of questions that continue to expose a higher and higher purpose behind the behaviour until our mind can go no further and a core state is reached. When a core state is reached typically people will state that they have "oneness" or "wholeness" or that they are "just being" or that they feel "total peace". These are core states and reaching them allows a natural and spontaneous release of the original unwanted behaviour or response. The technique is effortless and can be learnt by anyone. Added benefits of this technique are a strengthening of your sense of self and increase self-esteem.All of the above techniques are gentle and easy to acquire and are extremely effective.
